N2 - Cultural Intelligence (CQ) has been identified as a critical competency in responding to globalization. Recently, the number of students with international experience has increased because international experience has been viewed as one method of developing CQ. During the process of CQ development, negative psychological factors might influence the results. This study discusses CQ from a psychological perspective. The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between international experience and CQ, and the moderating effect of acculturative stress. This quantitative research used a survey approach to collect the data. Snowball sampling, a convenience sampling approach, selected Taiwanese students withinternational experienceas thesubjects. Correlation analysis andhierarchical regression analysis were used to analyze the hypotheses. The results remind us that understanding the knowledge of a culture and engaging deeply in a culture are the value of experiencing an intercultural context.
