Terahertz Metamaterials Gas sensor based on ZIF-8/MoSe2 Composite for NO2 Detection

摘要

This study aims to address the limitations of traditional gas sensors that require high-temperature operation and pose potential explosion risks. By utilizing terahertz photons as the detection light source, we seek to develop a novel optical gas sensor capable of operating safely at room temperature. To achieve this, we successfully synthesized a ZIF-8/MoSe2 composite material using a hydrothermal method and integrated it with metamaterials for the detection of toxic gases (NO2). ZIF-8, a unique metal-organic framework (MOF), features a high specific surface area, high porosity, and excellent chemical and thermal stability, making it highly advantageous for gas sensing applications. Meanwhile, MoSe2 as a transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC), exhibits remarkable electrical and optical properties and has recently demonstrated significant potential in gas sensing applications.
