摘要

This study addresses the challenges of an aging society by promoting healthy exercise to mitigate the aging process and enhance the well-being of the elderly. Research literature indicates that engaging in appropriate stretching exercises can significantly improve the quality of life for older adults, positively impacting their physical, psychological, and emotional health. The study emphasizes the critical role of interior design in supporting elderly well-being and promoting healthy aging. It aims to advocate for living environments that enhance the quality of life for older adults and inspire innovative interior design solutions for future aging societies. Through case studies and detailed analysis, this research provides preliminary insights for interior design practitioners on how to balance comfort, aesthetic value, and psychological health according to the preferences and needs of the elderly. By compiling literature and case studies, the study introduces practical observations of interior design creations—such as FlexArc and FlexBoard—to promote exercise participation among the elderly. These designs focus on strengthening the upper limbs, lower limbs, and core muscles, creating environments that are both aesthetically pleasing and conducive to physical activity. The study highlights the importance of optimizing home environments to encourage stretching exercises among older adults to increase their physical activity. It aspires to create multi-sensory, carefully designed homes that meet the physiological needs of the elderly while stimulating their interest in home-based exercise activities. This, in turn, can improve mental health and life satisfaction, gradually establishing a future of healthy aging well-being.
