摘要
Single crystal Fe(100) was hydroxylated to give a p(2×1) overlayer. Tetraallylmolybdenum, (η3-allyl)4Mo, reacted with Fe(100)-OH to give surface bound (allyl)nMo which was examined by high-resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy (HREELS). The surface-bound complex maintains η3-allylic ligation, in contrast to what is observed for the depostion of (η3-allyl)4Mo onto silica. Subsequent hydrogenation and oxygenation were followed by HREELS and Auger electron spectroscopy, and surface bound Fe‒O‒Mo and Mo═O units were identified.
