Accordingly, how to promote entrepreneurship has become a critical concern among academic scholars and business practitioners. Two prominent cases, Trend Micro (an anti-virus company) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd. (a semiconductor foundry company), are used to illustrate how entrepreneurs' human capital and social capital fit with industry environment to identify opportunity and how entrepreneurs' social capital can bring resources to transform the opportunity into successful new ventures.
