摘要

To provide kinematical information about contiguous level, a study was carried out to determined the effect of vertebrae adjacent fixation procedure. Thirty canines were used in this study. The 3rd and 6th cervical vertebrae were tested on static system. There were six specimens in each group. On group A, each canine received a sham operation. For group B, canine C4-5 discectomy was operated. For group C, the specimens were taken for C5-5 discectomy plus insertion of autologous iliac crest grafting. For groups D and E canines, the same procedures on group C were applied. Loading frame was gradually applied to the specimens. Overall, it was observed that when C4-C5 level was fixed, there were on compensations at C3-C4 and C5-C6 levels.
