Heat transfer enhancement of a multilayer graphene coating surface

摘要

This study examined improvements to evaporation and conduction heat transfer from the use of a multilayer graphene-coated surface. Two surface modification methods, namely the chemical vapor deposition and sol-gel methods, were used to apply multilayer graphene onto copper plates. The results indicated that compared with a plain copper surface, the graphene-coated surface provided superior performance in both evaporation and conduction heat transfer. Compared to the two coated methods, sol-gel method exhibited superior evaporation heat transfer performance because of the surface wetting behavior. However, the conduction heat transfer performance had significantly increased with the chemical vapor deposition method as surface temperature increased to approach saturation temperature.
