摘要
We present a novel design of an 1×2 photonic crystal beam splitter using silicon-on-insulator integrated optical technology. According to the design, we can reduce the size of beam splitter without increasing the propagation loss. In this paper, we study the 1×2 beam splitting ratio by changing the position of the center air hole. We use a finite-difference-time- domain (FDTD) method to simulate the propagation of the light. The 1×2 PBG beam splitter is designed with 180 degree output bending angles. The size of this novel beam splitting device are 8μm × 3.44μm.
