摘要

The functional mechanics of the human foot are greatly influenced by the structure of the foot, especially the height of the medial longitudinal arch. To predict the height of the arch, eight footprint parameters were evaluated. These parameters are arch length index, Staheli index, Chippaux-Smirak index, arch angle, footprint index, truncated arch index, arch index, and modified arch index. These variables provide an easily accessible and valid approach in classifying foot arch type to help people with abnormal foot structure prevent injury and to help athletes enhance their performance.
