摘要

Computer education in the R.O.C. (Taiwan) has been implemented via two areas: teaching about computers and teaching with computers. The policy of teaching about computers has been conducted by the R.O.C. Ministry of Education to prepare students either to receive higher education or to gain future employment. Since 1984, a 5-yr teacher inservice computer education program has been established to recruit and train high school teachers to teach computer courses in high schools. The policy of teaching with computers has also been conducted by the R.O.C. Ministry of Education to develop computer-assisted instruction (CAI) courseware related to industrial and commercial high school curricula. In addition to courseware development, the Chinese CAI authoring language will be developed by the end of 1988. These two measures have provided the foundation for computer education in R.O.C. high schools, although some problems have been encountered.
