摘要
The growth mode of a nickel thin film on Pt(l 10)–(1 X 1) and Pt(l 10)–(1 X2) surfaces was studied by low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and Auger electron spectroscopy at a temperature of 130 K. From the results of Auger uptake curves and the intensity profiles of LEED spots, we conclude that the growth of Ni on the Pt(110)-(1X1) surface follows the Volmer-Weber mode, while the Pt(110)-(1X2) surface follows the Stranski-Krastanov mode. The mechanism of the different growth behaviors is discussed.
