N2 - The Virtual Reality (VR) devices have become one of the future dominant electronics products which can drive the growth of electronics industries. The appropriate selection of a design concept is one of the key successful factors for the success of VR products. However, the selection of a specification and a design concept of a VR product is not easy. An electronic product should fulfill as many customer needs for various market segments as possible. Meanwhile, the lead time for an evaluation and selection of the concepts are usually very limited. Further, the availability of key components is very limited. Therefore, an evaluation framework is very critical for selecting a concept for a VR product. Based on the opinions being provided by experts with experiences of more than 15 years, the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) based Network Process (DANP) will be introduced for deriving the influences between the factors; and then, weights being associated with the factors can be derived accordingly. The empirical study results can serve as a basis for research and development as well as marketing strategy definitions for next generation VR products. In addition, the DANP based analytic framework can be used for deriving factors influencing disruptive innovations in the future.
