摘要
The offshore of Changhua County, Taiwan, is an important wind resourceful area, but unfortunately the seabed has weak soil conditions for structure foundations. These conditions are much unfavorable to wind turbines because they always sustain large and longtime lateral loadings. Constant monitoring of the structures became an indispensable task to ensure good operation and maintenances. Important structural parameters may include the verticalness and dynamic behavior of the wind turbine tower. In searching of suitable structural monitoring techniques applicable in the hash offshore environments, we installed a pioneering optical fiber Bragg grating inclination monitoring system, containing 4 mass tiltmeters, on one of the two offshore meteorological masts in this area, The system started to operate continuously since the July, 7, 2017 and was set to the highest sampling rate, 3 Hz, for stress tests. To demonstrate the long term monitoring capabilities of the system, the records of a usual week-long period and the dynamic spectrum of the week are reported. The paper finally concludes with two-minute records of the exceptional Hualien earthquake occurred on the 6th of February, 2018.
