日美二戰書信中的生命形式

本計劃研究日裔美國二戰經驗之相關文學與歷史文獻，以四部日美二戰書信集為主要研究文本，包括Louis Fiset 編輯的 Imprisoned Apart: The World War II Correspondence of an Issei Couple (1997)、Hana Masuda 和 Dianne Bridgman 編輯的 Minoru Masuda 戰時家書:Letters from the 442nd: The World War II Correspondence of a Japanese American Medic (2008)、Joanne Oppenheim 編輯的 Dear Miss Breed: True Stories of the Japanese American Incarceration during World War II and a Librarian Who Made a Difference (2006), 以及Dear Miye: Letters Home from Japan (1995)。本計畫嘗試從生命政治與生命形式的視角閱讀日美二戰書信，援引理論包括阿岡本(Giorgio Agamben)在 Homo Sacer: Sovereign Power and Bare Life 著作中，關於「the camp as biopolitical paradigm of the modern」的主張、德勒茲(Gilles Deleuze) 對於「生命內在性」 (the immanence of life) 、與鄂蘭 (Hannah Arendt) 對於極權政體與人類生命情境的思考。本研究討論書信對抗國家政治的潛力、分析日美成員在二戰期間複雜多元的生命形式，企圖對二戰期間日美種族身份、人權與主體位置等，有進一步探討。
