否定詞與對等/選擇連接詞之互動: 一個理論與實證研究

Employing The Truth Value Judgment Test (Crain and McKee, 1985), this study investigates the interaction between negation and disjunction in L2 acquisition of Chinese. A result shows that English-speaking learners of Chinese prefer to have　negation over disjunction, a similar judgment in their native language, in contrast to native speakers of Chinese, who prefer a wide scope reading of disjunction with respect to negation. The result may be taken to be L1 transfer or the default L1 setting. A further test with Chinese-speaking learners of English in comparison with native speakers of English shows that the ‘Full Transfer’ hypothesis is supported as concluded in Grüter et al. (2010).
