Abstract
A plasmonic thermal emitter with a periodic block pattern as the top layer was investigated. It is found that by adjusting the length and orientation of the rectangle metallic islands inside the block pattern, three polarization-dependent peaks can be obtained in the thermal radiation spectra. The individual mode can be extracted according to the different polarizations by an external polarizer. In addition, the device can be designed to emit in the desired wavelength range by tuning the dimensions of the block pattern.
