Abstract

This paper presents a new tone mapping operator used in high dynamic range imaging system. The new operator combines the photographic tone mapping function and two new additional items which are based on the local contrast map and the smoothed map. The images processed through the proposed algorithm have better brightness, contrast, and visibility without producing undesired artifacts.
