Abstract
The measurement of field-dependent refractive index of the magnetic fluid film (MFF) at various temperatures to investigate the thermal effect of the refractive index was discussed. It was found that under a given field strength, the particle of columns were dispersed into the liquid carrier at higher temperature. The analysis showed that the temperature exhibited a compensation effect on the refractive index of the MFF with respect to the magnetic field.
