Abstract
The new copper reagent RCu(CN)ZnI 2, which may contain important functional groups like the ester, nitrile, enoate or imide group, react in the presence of BF3.OEt2 with aldehydes to afford polyfunctional secondary alcohols in good yields (68-93%).
