Abstract
The environmental sustainability index for Taiwan and other major Asian countries was analyzed. The environmental sustainability index (ESI) developed by the World Economic Forum (WEF) was selected for performing quantitative analysis based on local data and characteristics of Taiwan and other major Asian countries. The ESI was compared with measures of economic performance and per-capita income. The differences between the correlations among the ESI and economic performances for all countries and Asian countries were also studied using statistical analysis.
