Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop a performance evaluation instrument for green schools in Taiwan. The instrument is designed according to three sets of criteria: participation and partnership, reflection and learning, and ecological consideration. It also covers three operational dimensions: learning context, administration, and teaching, with 28 individual items in total. Each item details the environmental education operation and points schools in the direction of a good environmental education response, with four levels of description according to the environmental education criteria. Tests for validity, reliability, feasibility, and a norm referenced test were conducted in this research. Twenty-one experts thought the items of this instrument were important.
