The comparative study of two types of information technology applied in the development of E-learning materials

Abstract

Information technologies have been applied to the field of E-learning. In addition to learning management system, learning material design is one of the most important applications of these technologies. The purpose of this study is to explore how information technologies are used to develop E-learning materials. Two major types of Information technologies, streaming video mode and programmed mode of a training course, are studied. Data were gathered from the material developing process, the presented course materials, and the interview with material-makers. The results were analyzed and discussed from both theoretical and practical perspectives. This paper addresses some important issues for applying different information technologies to the development of E-learning materials.
