Abstract

: The addition of the highly functionalized zinc and copper organometallics FG-RCu(CN)ZnI to nitro olefins furnishes polyfunctional nitroalkanes in good to excellent yields; with α-substituted nitro olefins, the Michael adducts can be directly converted into polyfunctional ketones.
