Abstract

The characteristics of high-Tc step-edge or bicrystal junctions and SQUIDs are examined. The IcRn product of junctions was found to be proportional to (jc)p with p ∼ 0.5 over several orders of magnitude in jc and at various temperatures. The V - φ and noise characteristics of SQUID were compared with the numerical expression of Enpuku et al. We demonstrate that 1/f noise can be induced with an applied external magnetic field. The microwave radiation reduces the modulation depth, Vpp, distorts the V - φ curve, and decreases the field sensitivity of SQUID magnetometers.
