Abstract

When dealing with all kinds of output devices, it is confusing for most of the people to scan originals at the correct resolution. Three key steps were developed in this study. Firstly, the purpose or the addressability of output device needs to be confirmed. Secondly, types of originals have to be distinguished. Particularly the line art original needs a higher resolution to remain print quality. Thirdly, the scale factor size of the original needs to be calculated. Considering those factors, a digitized image with optimized print quality and file size can be generated.
