Abstract
Zn-catalyzed asymmetric alkylation reaction with carbonyl compounds has provided a straightforward method to access enantio-enriched tertiary alcohols. This chiral carbon-carbon bond forming process has attracted great attention in the field of asymmetric synthesis with features of mild reaction conditions, tolerating diverse functional groups and employment of low toxic zinc metal. In this digest, the recent developments of this asymmetric protocol are focused.
