Obesity as a critical issue of breast cancer development

Abstract

The prevalence of cancer is associated with obese and is estimated up to 20% which was influenced by dietary intake, body fat distribution, and physical activity. Nowadays, obesity is considered as one of the most hazardous factors for the breast cancer of women after menopause. To understand the linking mechanism of cancer and obesity is the critical issue should be addressed, and then to find out and develop new methods to prevent or treat this kind of cancer. Accumulating evidence has shown the possible mechanism, such as genetic susceptibility, low grade inflammation, immune system dysfunction, oxidative stress, and circumambient adipocyte crosstalk with cancer cell. This review was present an update summary of obesity-driven changes and tumor microenvironment, as well as release signaling, growth factors, and inflammatory cytokines were also highlighted.
