Mixed-state hall effect in YBa 2 Cu 3 O y /PrBa 2 Cu 3 O y superlattices

Abstract

The longitudinal (ρ xx ) and transverse resistivities (ρ xy ) were examined in order to study the effect of flux pinning in the YBa 2 Cu 3 O y /PrBa 2 Cu 3 O y (YBCO/PBCO) superlattices. It was observed that the sign reversal of Hall coefficient R H diminished with a decreasing thickness of the individual YBCO layer or with increasing thickness of the individual PBCO layer. The exponent β in scaling behavior ρ xy ∼ρ β xx is magnetic field dependent and the dependence is stronger for a YBCO/PBCO superlattice with a thinner YBCO layer.
