Abstract

Color electronic paper (CEP) typically displays color by integrating a color filter array (CFA) with black-and-white electrophoretic displays (EPD). However, this approach significantly reduces overall brightness and color saturation. To enhance visual performance, incorporating a front light (FL) panel has emerged as an effective alternative. Nevertheless, determining the optimal FL setting remains a challenging task. The main contributions of this paper include the optimization of computationally intensive components of the existing algorithm and the proposal of a new FL selection method that enhances efficiency while maintaining the overall lighting performance.
