N2 - A study was made to observe the relative expression of four heat shock proteins i.e. HSP27, HSP72, HSP73 and HSP90 on caprine bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Bone marrow was collected from 1 to 2 year old healthy goats and cultured up to passage 3, after which the cells were used for RNA isolation and cDNA preparation to study real time expression analysis. The result showed that HSP27, HSP72 and HSP90 expressed significantly higher (P<0.05) as compared to HSP73. HSP73-an important constituent of apoptosis, surprisingly down-regulated whereas HSP72 was significantly up-regulated. In conclusion, the expression of certain HSPs as mentioned above on the caprine bone marrow derived MSCs confirms the stemness and anti-apoptosis nature of the MSCs.
