title = "Do Adults Assess Themselves More Leniently or Stringently Than Assessing Peers? Difference Between Online Self-assessment and Peer Assessment",
abstract = "This study was to examine the difference between adults{\textquoteright} self-assessment and peer assessment. The participants were adult learners who used the web-based assessment system to assess themselves and assess their peers. Results revealed that the difference between assessing self and assessing peers was significant, while assessing self was more lenient or higher than assessing peers. Self-under-estimators had better peer-referenced stringency than the other two types of self-assessor. Self-assessor type influenced the difference between the two assessment modes, and influenced the stringency of self-assessment. The study finally provides valued implications in terms of theory and practice.",
