Abstract

The session initiation protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol for creating, modifying, and terminating sessions with one or more participants. Apart from multimedia over IP networks and cellular networks have caught researchers' attention. This paper designs a User Agent (UA) soft phone, and setups a SER (SIP Express Router) proxy server for multimedia services (integration of voice, video, and instant message) in SIP-based IP broadband networks. However, it not only provides an easy method to implement interactive multimedia interfaces with low cost, but also passes the compatible test with Windows Messenger, X-lite, and CCL Phone, etc.
