N1 - Funding Information:
By placing the 2-D signals in the corresponding spatial and frequency domains, the target images can be perfectly reconstructed. However, it is not easy to simultaneously display both the magnitude and phase information on a photo mask. A potential future research would be the retrieval of phase-only information such that the target images can still be reconstructed in a similar manner. N2 - A novel scheme that three images can be independently reconstructed by any two of the three determined two-dimensional signals is proposed. It can be referred to as a special case of the visual secret sharing method.
