Abstract

The magnetic data associated with the perpendicular and parallel magnetic fields to the ab-plane of Bi-Ca-Sr-Cu-O single crystal will be shown to study the effects of the magnetic field. It is found that all lower and upper critical fields are upturn curves in both orientations of magnetic fields. Comparing to Hc2's, Hc1's are extremely low. The parallel critical fields are about twice as large as those for perpendicular fields in all temperatures. Finally, the temperature dependence of magnetic penetration depths and coherence lengths of this sample were calculated.
