Abstract
The evolution of structural, electrical and magnetic properties of two-dimensional La1.2(Sr1.8-x)Mn2O7 compounds and three-dimensional La0.6(Sr0.4-xCax)MnO3 compounds were investigated. The relationship between the ionic size and the Curie temperature was also studied. The results showed that the dimensionality as well as ionic size plays an important role in controlling the colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) in manganites.
