Abstract
Recently, we have developed several synthetic routes to a series of chalcogen-containing group 6 (emphasizing on chromium) carbonyl clusters, in which the interesting structural transformations, reactivity, and properties of the resultant clusters have also been investigated. This review will focus on the aspects of the research carried out in our laboratory. In this account, the practical synthetic methodologies and metal-metal exchange and cluster expansion reactions together with structural features of these Cr-containing complexes are systematically described and compared.
