Abstract

Knowledge acquisition is the key task in building an expert system. Existing expert systems for digital circuit design need human knowledge engineers to update their rule bases whenever a new component is added into the system. This manual knowledge acquisition process is quite error prone and time consuming. To solve these problems, the author has used the automated reasoning method to find applications of a new structural module based on its basic behaviour.
