Abstract
Measurements are reported for positive-ion induced L-subshell ionization cross sections ratios. For α-particle projectiles, the LIII/LII low-energy behavior for Au and Pt differs dramatically from that for Ta and Bi. Correlation with the outer electron configurations of these atoms is suggested.
