Abstract
This research aims to use a customization strategy for universities to increase students' critical thinking in Taiwan. In order to enhance learning effectiveness and future competiveness, the research examined seven factors which were included analysis, evaluation, integration, management, identification, communication, and access of information literacy which have connection with critical thinking. The instruments of the research were one was information literacy redesigned based on the Association of College and Research Libraries, ACRL (2000) Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education, and the other was critical thinking questionnaires. After the Multiple Regression Analysis, there were relationships between information literacy and critical thinking on different department as follows. (a) The analysis and access concepts can predict the total score of critical thinking in Department of Mechanical Engineering. (b) The assumption identification and induction can predict the total score of information literacy in Department of Mechanical Engineering. (c) The deduction can predict the total score of information literacy in Department of Civil Engineering.
