Abstract

In this paper, we propose a real time hardware architecture with low cost for histogram difference calculator to process and low-level extraction in our video abstraction system. The highlights are extracted from video data by directly combining simple visual and audio features of video data without specific domain knowledge and hence its low complexity makes it suitable to be implemented in embedded systems. Experimental results show that the condensed skimming clips comprise the interesting and informative parts and most meaningful semantic contents are extracted efficiently.
