Abstract

A battery testing system using microcontroller chip encompasses low-cost and compact configuration is proposed. The proposed battery test platform consists of a MCU, a signal capturing circuit, a HMI (human machine interface) and a programmable sinusoidal load. To validate the dynamic characteristics of the power battery in practical applications, the wide-range slew-rate and programmable sinusoidal loading feature of implemented sinusoidal load is served as a test load. Furthermore, the extracted energy from the power battery during diagnostic process can be recycled. In addition, the loading current can be programmed by the preset parameters in the user-machine interface. All the analysis of operation modes, simulations, some experimental results, and portable design verify the theoretical predictions and the implemented system.
