title = "A distributed system for the analysis of high-voltage fields",
abstract = "Based on the attractive features of both distributed artificial intelligence and the existed analysis techniques of high voltage fields, the paper proposes a distributed system for analyzing high voltage fields. Such a distributed paradigm is a multi-agent system, each processing agent of which can compute autonomously and cooperate with other agents to reason an accurate and satisfactory solution of analyzing high voltage fields. The designed distributed system solves problems using three basic moduli: blackboard module, knowledge sources, and control mechanism. In addition, to achieve a high degree of goodness in analyzing high voltage fields, the existed techniques are embedded in the domain knowledge source and the users∗ requirements are referred to as the key driven of the constraint knowledge source. To demonstrate its effect, the distributed system is implemented on the basis of NASA's CLIPS and SUN's RPC and applied to the analysis of high voltage fields in the Electrical Laboratory of NTNU. Test results indicate that the distributed system assists the designers of high voltage equipment in making an accurate and speedy analysis of field distributions. Moreover, the system had also become a CAI tool in NTNU.",
