Abstract

"Discussion on the Order of Narration and Moral Standard of The Nine-Tailed Turtle" Li Chi-Hung (Department of Language & Literature Education, National Taipei Teachers College) Chang Ch'un-fan's The Nine Tailed Turtle is one of the late-Ch'ing pornographic novels. In the past, this novel was criticized more than praised on material content and writing style for carrying on the convention of traditional Chinese serial novel. This essay has as its focus of discussion the narrative of the novel. It is hoped that through this discussion, a new point of study can be established for further analysis by checking the order of narration and moral standard of The Nine- Tailed Turtle.
