步循資源共享的歷史軌跡，探討圖書館聯盟的演變與發展

Resource sharing is an ideal goal for libraries and is achieved by many cooperative tasks and activities. In general consortium is a key ground to achieve a commonsense of resource sharing within libraries. With advancement of Internet and use of electronic resources, consortium becomes a hot issue again around the world libraries. The purpose of this paper is to take a review and comparison of consortia developments and trends both in USA and Taiwan. The paper consisits of eight components as following: term's definition, history of resource of resource sharing and consortium both in American and Taiwan libraries, motivations, developed models, requirements, success factors, challenges and trends for consortium. Finally, rights and obligations of membership, funding support, archive and permenant access, evaluation concerning about comsortium, and pricing of electronic resources are also discussed in the paper.
