This article briefly introduced the statistical method of generalized estimating equations (GEE), and simulated a set of data to illustrate how this method is better than repeated measures analysis of variance and mixed design analysis of variance. In addition, we point out some educational research data which are appropriate to be analyzed by GEE. Lastly, we summarize how to report the analytical result of GEE and discuss its limitations.
