建立數位圖書館的新典範--以電子期刊為個案研究探討

Inevitably the digital library is a trend in the library field and the electronic journal is one of important contents for digital library framework. Traditionally, journal is the key information resource for researchers because it offers the current trend, promotes the scholarly communication, as well as proving the scholarly credit for tenure and promotion. With the advancement of electronic journals, the current management paradigm based on paper journals is challenged and become a key issue for libraries to solve. The purpose of this paper is to argue whether the paper journals' paradigm is still applicable for electronic journals. This paper is divided into four topics to discuss the paradigm transition of journal management from paper to electronic form: causes of new management paradigm springs out, contradictory principles between paper and electronic journals, analysis and findings of the case studies, and new concepts for the electronic journals' paradigm as conclusion.
