Project Details
Description
The plan is to collaborate with Chinese Television System Inc. (CTS) to jointly launch the “Cool Taiwanese” audiovisual program consisting of 2 seasons composed of 26 episodes each. Each episode will be around 5 minutes. CTS and the Department of Taiwan Languages, Literature and Culture (TLLC) at National Taiwan Normal University will collaborate with CTS providing the equipment, broadcast channel, and Magic-hour Film Company providing photographers, and TLLC providing content planning, Taiwanese scripts, hosting, dubbing, and other assistance. The purpose of this project is to reverse the stereotypes surrounding Taiwanese such as localization, aging, and its limitation to daily language use by relating Taiwanese to issues such as modern, technology, fashion, youthfulness, and social or international pulsating issues. Characters and images are linked to improve the visibility of Taiwanese language programs to reach a broader audience. More importantly, through this project, young students can understand and acquire the knowledge and skills of relevant industries in the process of planning, production, filming, and postproduction for the audiovisual program series. This newly acquired knowledge can be combined with the students’ academic studies to create new directions for the future.
