Description

Physicians with adequate health literacy are able to promote doctor-patient communication effectively and improve patients’ health outcomes. Because there were not enough related courses in medical education, this study developed an “innovative educational modules using interactive e-books on clinical scenarios” intervention in health literacy among medical students to improve their health literacy. It was a pilot study because the e-book took a long time to be developed, and the study objects participated this study in a small team clinical practice with 6-8 students. There were 41 5th grade medical students attended this study and the results showed that they got better knowledge, attitude and skills in health literacy after the educational intervention. The satisfaction of using e-books is highly confirmed. Therefore, the innovative educational modules will be used in the formal intervention in 2021, and the contribution can be expected in medical education and practical applications.
