Description
In response to the global trend of combining technology and sports, traditional sports brands are facing unprecedented challenges from tech giants entering this field. Taiwan possesses an international advantage in the sports equipment and technology industries, having accumulated extensive manufacturing experience. However, success is not solely dependent on advanced hardware technology; more crucial is the application value and functionality of the products. This application value reflects the "soft power" of developers. Therefore, Taiwan's sports industry urgently needs to strengthen collaboration with the academic sector in sports science. With the support of our alliance, we aim to deeply integrate hardware technology with software applications to enhance the added value of products. This year, the alliance actively participated in nine promotional activities across fields such as sports technology, fitness monitoring, and medical applications, attracting a total of 620 participants. These activities included the application of indoor positioning technology in futsal, exploring the application of sports science tools in medical centers, and promoting the development of sports science education in Taiwan through academic exchanges. The alliance also held several technical seminars focused on sports science applications, covering topics related to cycling, basketball, and other performance-enhancing technologies. These efforts further deepened cooperation with the industry and enhanced participants' understanding of data-driven sports performance technologies. Additionally, the alliance provided 73 professional consultation sessions, covering technical development, product applications, and market demand, assisting members in resolving issues related to data transmission and training monitoring equipment development, as well as offering innovative suggestions for wearable devices and sports products. To foster industry collaboration, the alliance organized several on-site factory guidance visits, with 66 participants, promoting technology sharing and enhancing industry-academic collaboration. These initiatives help Taiwan's sports technology industry to upgrade, innovate, and maintain a competitive edge in the global market.
