Project Details

Description

This project aims to integrate school life science and technology education, and create an experimental and innovative learning environment by introducing the application of robotic arms: combining STEAM integrated thinking and scientific thinking, and promoting creative science activites. Through this program, students' interest in learning science and engineering technology was enhanced, and their reasoning and problem-solving abilities are cultivated, guiding them to use scientific knowledge to solve engineering and technological problems in real situations. In addition to introducing the innovative "Computational Thinking Course Using Robotic Arms" course into campus, students' computational thinking is stimulated through robotic arm teaching, and the learning topic is extended to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) sustainable development issues. The core of this course is to continue the successful experience of last year project and further integrate the marine conservation issues in the SDGs. The project also 1. held teacher training in the field of science and technology at normal universities, 2. promote the application of robotic arms through the design and development of robotic arm assembly and control programs, and 3. help teacher trainees and education-related personnel become familiar with their operation and application. Such design aimed to help those who are interested in having a deeper understanding of program control, robotic arm assembly mechanism and their interrelationships. Through this type of innovative science popularization activities, this project hopes to stimulate the development and inspiration of more STEM-related courses through cross-domain theme curriculum design. This plan continues the previous promotion experience and focuses on implementation and promotion in elementary schools in rural counties and urban cities across Taiwan. With active promotion, this project has gradually implemented two innovative practices: 1. in order to attract more students to actively participate and expand the influence through word of mouth, this event is specially open to students to register as individuals; 2. in order to extend hands-on engineering education down to the elementary school stage, the event is themed "Parent-Child Assembly" to increase public participation and strengthen the understanding and recognition of relevant knowledge. The ultimate goal is to combine the design and promotion of creative science popularization activities, integrate into the school's life science and technology education curriculum, create innovative experimental teaching, and enhance students' interest in learning science and engineering technology. At the same time, the program hopes to cultivate students' reasoning and problem-solving abilities, allowing them to apply scientific knowledge to analyze and solve engineering and technological problems in daily life context. This project will base on the results of current project, further deepen students' understanding of science and technology, and enhance their ability to apply what they have learned in the real world. This project also hopes that the participating teachers can eventually be promoted to achieve long-term learning effects.
